Q: What are your favorite activities/hobbies:
A: I love cooking and traveling the most! I also love the outdoors and go hiking and camping in the North Georgia Mountains frequently. I probably watch too much TV, so I’ll mention that last.
Q: What is the best part of your job?
A: I love working with our driven and energetic Scheller students! The word is out that they are the “happiest” students on campus, which shows through their enthusiasm and love for their major and for Georgia Tech. I also have a genuine good time with my co-workers, and consider them all friends, even outside of work.
Q: Where is your favorite place on campus?
A: When I have to walk to meetings across campus, I love crossing the 5th Street Bridge. You can’t tell that you’re crossing over a major interstate with the beautiful landscaping, and it’s always lively and bustling with students and members of the Georgia Tech community. You always run into someone you know, and it’s nice to say hi to folks outside of an office setting.
Q: Unique/exciting thing you bring to Georgia Tech?
A: I believe I show great compassion and patience in my interactions with students, and I’ve been told I have a calming effect (which I wish I could use on myself!). I find great satisfaction in helping others, and I like to use my sense of humor to build relationships. I love to laugh, and I try to include laughter in most interactions.
Q: Anything else that you would like for the GTAAN community to know about you and/or your role at Tech?
A: Pre-COVID, one of my favorite roles as an advisor for the Scheller Business Ambassadors was working with our student leaders to plan community development events. Everything from Coffee and Donuts in the Thornton Atrium, to the Scheller Spring Awards Ceremony, to handing out free snacks for finals week, and everything in between, these events create a sense of community and kindness that just makes everyone happy. While it’s not a large part my job, I enjoy event planning, and I look forward to returning to it when we can safely do so. I would be happy to learn any event planning best practices from other GTAAN members in a similar role!
Thank you so much for letting us shine the spotlight on you this month, Lindsay!
