As one of the advisors (and instructors) of the newest major on campus, I do a bit of everything from advising to teaching to admin. I keep learning something new that I didn’t know I didn’t know, and I really appreciate the GTAAN community for being such a welcoming and knowledgeable resource for me." - Mary

Q: Where is your Alma Mater?

A: Georgia Tech (BS) and University of Maryland, School of Medicine (PhD)

Q: What degree(s) have you earned?

A: BS in Applied Psychology and PhD in Neuroscience

Q: What is your favorite activity/hobby?

A: When the weather is nice, you can find me hiking on some of the trails around the Atlanta area. When it’s too dark or too wet for a hike, I’ll be inside doing needlepoint or knitting.

Q: What is the best part of your job?

A: The best part of the job is working with these highly motivated students! I firmly believe that they can do anything they set their mind to do!

Q: Where is your favorite place on campus?

A: The little garden beside Skiles. It’s beautiful during the spring, when everything is flowering.

Q: Unique/exciting thing you bring to Georgia Tech?

A: I can combine the knowledge of particular classes and the Institute overall that I gathered as a student with my content expertise and network I built over my time in graduate school and beyond to meet students where they are and show them all the possibilities for the future!

Thanks so much for letting us feature you this month, Mary!
