Gloria Steinem, Beverly Guy-Sheftall To Speak
Atlanta (November 4, 2009) — Young feminist scholar and activist Alexis Pauline Gumbs will moderate a discussion with feminist icons Beverly Guy-Sheftall and Gloria Steinem about their impact on the history and future of feminism. Sponsored by the Georgia Tech Women's Resource Center and Charis Books, the event will take place on November 5 at 7:30 p.m. in the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center. Free tickets are available to Georgia Tech students, faculty and staff when they R.S.V.P. to the event on the Womenâs Resource Web site.

Atlanta (October 23, 2009) — The IP section of this course fulfills the International Plan's International Relations requirement. This opportunity provides students with several semesters of research on one project, culminating in an original thesis or research paper. Research Option students work one-on-one with faculty members, and students are encouraged to present their final work to faculty and their peers.

Atlanta (July 9, 2009) — Georgia Tech and Kennesaw State University (KSU) have a new Noyce Scholarship that is available to Tech seniors who want to become certified math teachers (grades 6-12). Tech students will graduate from Tech and then apply to and complete the 1-year Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) in Math at KSU.

IAC Enrollment Growth Outpaces Institute
Atlanta (October 16, 2008) — The Ivan Allen College experienced its largest ever enrollment this fall with 963 undergraduate and 283 graduate students matriculating in IAC majors. This is a continuation of the rapid growth the college has experenced during the past six years. From 2002 to 2008, undergraduate and graduate enrollment increased 33%. This surpasses the 18% increase in enrollment for the Institute as a whole.
